funny :)

We came across this sign while on our bike ride. The funny thing is we were going up hill, and I doubt we could even get up to 10 mph if we tried really really hard.
We never did find any turtles.

Bike Ride

I cant believe that I just finished telling you that we would never go on another "crazy-long" bike ride. So... what did we do on Saturday morning?
You guessed it!
Gluttons for punishment.
We actually had a great time, and a really good work out. If you haven't tried the River Mountain Loop Trail you defiantly should, especially now that the whole thing is paved. The trail is 31 miles long and loops around the mountains and down next to Lake Mead. It's just awesome for riding the bikes! and there is no traffic to worry about!
(A picture of the map. Just for you.)
My only recommendation?
When pulling a 40 pound bike trailer- don't start at the top of the hill.
We passed several parking lots closer to the lake, and were wishing we didn't have to ride all the way back to the top! FYI: there is a parking lot at the bottom :)
We did have fun. And would LOVE to do the whole loop one day! (without the bike trailer)

behind again

Last week- we went to red rock. Since I have been using my blog time to tease Curtis, I am just now getting around to telling you about it. We had a blast, we always do! Well... except for that time we decided to ride our bikes around the 12 mile loop, while pulling Carson in the trailer! STUPID!!!
my boyz! After our hike to find "Turtle Head". Unfortunately Carson thought we were trying to find a real turtle head.
This is what happens when Mom has her camera out, and Dad is in charge.

Fun rocks to climb on!

The view from the end of our hike. Although we are excited to move on to another place in the world. We have started to become attached to this area, like all things that God created its has its own kind of beauty

You thought I was bad!!

I know that I read to much. I might have even felt a little guilty for the extra time I spent reading all those books. BUT! Curtis is just as bad. Here is my proof-

A few days ago Curtis announces that he needs to go to the neighbors home and barrow a book. Of course this isn't anything new, I barrow books all the time and so does Curtis. These books are usually not entertaining kind. However, I was a little surprised by what he brought home.
I was expecting a "normal" book. Maybe like this-

I wouldn't have been surprised if the book had similar to this-

No, he brought home one of these.I know all the medical student know what book it is, and they probably would really like one of their own. For the rest of the world... this is that manual that should have come with the birth of each child. I know people say that it dosen't exist, but here it is. Everything you could possible want (or not) to know about pediatrics. If that is not enough - they update it every year. It has over 3,000 pages, weighs 15 pounds, and sells for $150.
So. what is it good for? how do we use it?

(no book was damaged during the making of this blog. Thanks Steve!)

Karate Ninja

Just some video of Carson at his "Ninja Toddlers" class. As you can see he is now a well disciplined fighting machine, and I no longer need to carry pepper-spray. :)
He loves his class, and loves to show off his new super hero moves.
Enjoy !

Books and Blogs

I love books. It is so hard for me to read really good books and live a real life too. I haven't blogged for weeks, because I was neck deep into some awesome books. If you were starting to feel neglected... just get in line, because I think Curtis and Carson started one a week ago. And to prove my point. One evening I stayed up way way way late trying to finish a particularly exciting book, and at the time I didn't feel guilty, Curtis had been asleep for hours. However, the next morning I found that he had thrown away my book (along with several others I had planned on reading next).
I can take a hint.
I can also pass the blame - its Danielle's fault. Yep. She is the one who gave me the books (seven of them!!!!). Its her!! blame Her.
But. Danielle got the books from Erica. She is always getting books from Erica. In fact, the last two series of (wonderful!!) books came from Erica. Thats 11 books. It must be Erica's fault.
And then... Sharlene is the one who started this mess in the beginning. She is the one who "Forced" me to read Twilight. Thus awakening my inner "book demon".
I cant forget my Mother. She has some responsibility in this also. As a Librarian, she is always coming up with new and improved ways of finding excellent books that I am sure to like.

So it is settled. Its Danielle's fault, with contributions from both Erica , Sharlene, and my own Mother.
Oh! Natalie, don't think you are getting out of this without any blame. I know you have contributed a book or two. Consider this your warning!

By the way. This is my next book : )
