Lexington Kentucky

Earlier this month Curtis and I went to Lexington Kentucky for an interview at the university of Kentucky. We were able to leave Carson in Utah with his Grandma (I dont think he even noticed we were gone!). I had this vision in my mind that Lexington would be like any normal city, with a short drive to the country to see the horses and fields and white fences like in the pictures. NOT! The City is not very big at all! and the Horse fields were everywhere. A huge amount of the area is lined with these white fences. But I couldnt find a single horse. We had even been told that the horse population out numbers the people. Now, dont get me wrong, I am not a horse person. I would rather see them at a distance, but still.... where are all the horses?
This is a major road in the area. Just left of the photo is the Lexington airport. cool hu?

Yep... no horses here.
Then I saw this big fancy sign and a gated road. The gate was wide open... so I went in to have a look ; ) I was really curious about the location of these horses now. Then I drove past this huge house ( you can see it at the top of the grassy hill), it had 15 or 20 huge barn doors!!??? what the heck? Then I kept driving and found several more huge "homes" with lots of these doors. Then end of this road was like a scene straigh out of "Sea Biscuit".... and I figured it out. The huge fancy buildings were um... Horse Houses. I FOUND THE HORSES!!! I got a quick glimpse of a horse track before I had to turn around. Later that night I took Curtis back to see what I found. Apparently it was a very famous race track. And they did film "Sea Buscuit" there. And if any of the natives herd me say "Horse House" instead of "Stable" I would be hung from the nearest tree... by my toes : )

This is a Picture of the Lexington hospital. It is fairly new, but they are building a "bigger and better" one right next door.
We had fun. But our next vacation together will be longer than one night!!

3 Years Old

Carson is 3 already. I am so sad that my baby is growing up. He is offically a little kid... with tons of additude!
Here are some pictures of the Happy Day!Star cake at Grandma Potters House

Golf cake at Grandma Andrews. Would you guess he picked out the golf candles by himself. I tried to talk him out of it. His Father was very proud of his decision. "Start'm Young!"
Cool picture!

We all went swimming for his birthday activity. Carson was sooo excited.
Grandma Andrews was giving Carson a bath when...
Carson: frama what it this
Grandma looks and sees he is playing with his "boy parts"
Grandma: Well.... that your weenie
Carson: Not that! Look frama! this thing down here.
(Grandma is now laughing and yells to grandpa in the bathroom, because Carson has a question.)
Carson: What is it?!!
Grandma: Um... that is just part of your weenie.
(Grandpa has now refused to enter the room)
A minute passes
Carson: Oh! my gosh! There is two of them!!!
The Grandparents had a good laugh, and were sure to tell us all the fun details later.
Thanks guys.

Cold as Ice

I cant tell you how much we miss Las Vegas! Not only because of all the friends we miss, but because of the weather. I am soooo spoiled! It has been snowing here the whole month. Most of the time it is just a light flurry, then there are those days (like yesterday) when the snow comes down in feet... 2 feet to be exact. I would do almost anything to go outside for a walk.
This is my parents home after a huge snow storm
This is a view looking down their driveway
Then I turned around and took a picture looking up the rest of the driveway
And to finish off... This is a picture of the valley from where I was standing. Yes, this driveway does make life a little difficult. When it snows you MUST have 4wheel drive to make it up the road. We usually end up walking, but that is nothing new to me. Curtis however... hates going to my parents home after it has snowed. As children we would ride sleeds down the driveway to catch the school bus every morning. And it wasnt unusual for us to use snowmobiles as a form of transportation. We must be rednecks.
Love Ya!
